oh hi snow in february

I cannot believe that it is already almost mid February. I think I am actually in a little mini state of denial...seeing that in 19 days I get to move out of my apartment. (don't ask where I'm going....thats in progress....or denial....one of the two).

Other than that exciting news- work/life has been about the same. Kids are swimming fast- masters are constantly impressing me- and my own training is going real well.

lots of swimmmmmmmingngngngngn

And a few meets with my friend Zack. Love that he's coaching so close.

So- the Channel Cat President has been asking me to write articles for our swim newsletter. Im not the greatest at writing (especially prescribed topics)....but I am pretty excited to write this next one.

We had got talking about motivation among the athletes. I remember this being a challenge- especially when training in a large group. Any negative energy seems to travel like wild fire the second that anyone lets their badass guard down (which I know happens).

So im excited to start writing- might be wondering why I have a picture of Jordan Rapp- I've got his speech when he won Ironman Canada 2011 posted with me...and well...ill write about it on my next post. Just super inspiring.

ON another note. It snowed. The last three days. And honestly....I've been whining just a little.....but I do like the snow. It's different and the gym is a bit more quiet (which is a good change).

I do have to brag though- the last few years I didn't drive in the snow...like at all. I would get dropped off in the AM at work and picked up in the PM after work. And just kind of bum around the gym all day.
Well I DROVE. A lot so far. And I don't really know what I was so terrified of. I mean just go slow...and be smart. LOVE IT.

The mother and I enjoying the snow.

Just kept snowingggggg.

Our dog freaking loves it

We took him for a Saturday night 10pm walk. It was super cold, but so awesome- I love how light everything stays at night when it snows. Wish it was just a  bit warmer and we were going to night run the mountain. Next time.

I don't know how excited she is to have me around more often....but you can see my excitement. Coffee after a good treadmill AM run. Love it.

Another good thing I love about being at "home" more often is the food. This salad was amazing- romaine, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, mushrooms, almonds, onion, feta, balsamic, salt. Um. Yum.

And to close. The keets says hello.

And so does this cute fox.

Love, Erin
