On my big epiphany...

....or epiphanies...

1.) I will never work a day in my life.

Tri City Court Club

Tri City Channel Cats Assistant Age Group Coach

If you were to ask me last summer what I've been doing for work it would have looked something like: "I work at the Court Club and the local Club swim program, and well Im planning on going back to school really soon....im actually getting enrolled now....I do have BIG plans..."

This seems so lame and funny to me now. I have no idea why I was so quick to discredit the one job that I not only LOVE, but I feel like I'm good at and could see myself doing the rest of my life. These two jobs seem to turn any cloudy day into the best day ever----how could you be ashamed of that?

I even caught myself saying to someone last night at dinner- "oh yeah, man I wish I could go....I have to work tomorrow morning..." then promptly corrected myself with "actually its not like its actual work---I love my job!"

I'm really not trying to be the tackiest person in the entire world---but really, I've always kind have thought what ever you are really really passionate about you will be good at.

Now I just need more of it...

Just cute.

2.) Loving the little things.
I'm learning to love listening to the wind. Or slowing down to watch the water flow downstream (am I Pocahontas...hahah)
Like....the cat after bike rides. haha.

and planting flowers.

LOVE these.

and the dog.

And watching some of my friends kids (5,7,9yo) running at a track meet.

Most of the fun in life costs not a penny.

3.) I like to train alone.

Crowie says it pretty well.
I also like to do this for myself. It's meditative and each day is a new challenge. I am so excited since I am on a pretty tight budget (see below) being in this mode of "training camp" is really an adventure for me- putting my head down and saying---hmm Friday night---might as well squeeze in a bike....or head to the gym...

Nothing to complain about here.

Put this up as my daily motivation to look at every morning before headed to my day. No better motivation than one of my biggest heroes (and coach) Hillary Biscay. "Ordinary people believe only in the possible. Extraordinary people visualize not what is possible or probable, blue rather what is impossible. And by visualizing the impossible, they begin to see it as possible." -Team Sirius

Something I overheard listening to Meredith Kessler's post St George 70.3 2013 win interview- really stuck with me-

4.) I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T

Well, my car broke down almost a month ago now. I put the big girl panties on and am now the proud lease owner of a Prius (2013 Charcoal) It is actually a really good deal if anyone is looking for a car that not only kicks ass on gas mileage----but can fit my entire bike in the back (without taking the wheels off)---or that you can fully lay down in the back----and are looking for a low car payment.
You would think I work for Toyota...

And my other big girl ness going on----baby's first bike pump. hahaha This needed to happen.

5.) Friends are everything
Instead of always saying "I'm sorry I'm busy..." or "Ahhh I can't today..." I just got in the habit of saying, "You know what....YEAH...ill be there."

Tri Cities is a gem. No other place can you meet people like these.

5.) I don't need peanut butter

This is almost better. I'm going to try to follow the Clean idea of eating for awhile (ridding the diet of the inflammation causing foods)
Its not really cut out for athletes---but thats why I'm not going full blown Clean...just applying the foods that seem to work for me.

5.) My body is not made for gymnastics

I spent quite a while like this trying to figure out how to do a handstand...

Yup, It's not.

Sun and Bike

Equals LOVE.

This week in WASHINGTON state we actually are recording some of the warmest temps in the country.

It is AWESOME.

I love that this also happens to be week two of bike camp! Love it. Its definitely going to be a switch of gears----but week two----and I'm going strong and loving it!

YESS love getting out in my pink Smashfest tank. Love the fit!

My lonely awesome ride out into the country roads. This was on my way back in-between my singing of "wastin away in margaritaville." I guess I was in a mood.....

I was a little unsure about this picture (took it for my momma to see my skin change the last 3 days ---seriously 3 days---in the sun) but...I figure I live in a swim suit...not much different. HAHA. I literally got asked 3 times TODAY if I'm part Mexican. LOVE IT.

Best post ride snack ever.

Thank you spring for being beautiful. Let's keep this up.

Love, Erin
