Ive been wanting to do a day in the life post for awhile. So
here we go: my days are always a little different day to day----week to week
though they tend to be about the same. So here is my April 26, Thursday of
2012. Hope you had as wonderful of a day as me!
Erin Holmes April 26, 2012
4:55am Alarm Clock, I got a sleep in this Am…okay 10
minutes….but still a sleep in regardless.
5:05am Dressed and things ready to go----I had enough time
this morning to clean out my kerug cup and make a cup of Starbucks Tribute
blend with some cold soy. UM…yum.
Yes this is what i look like at 5:00am.
5:15am Prep and work with client Bob- he’s signed up for his
first full Iron distance race this year. He is totally awesome. Very
motivational man. Has a bit of work to do in the pool- but with his work ethic
he will finish the swim with no problem. He started running only 2 years ago-
to lose weight- currently he is down 80 lbs (I believe) and has run multiple
marathons. He thought- why not challenge myself for the iron distance? I love
working with him tues and thurs!
6:10am Went home (quick shift at the gym) thank goodness I
only work 3 mi away from home!
6:30am Breakfast with the JM man. We shared a bagel…with
peanutbutter and…one of these awesome bars (best bar….EVER)
You have to try this. They are so. damn. good. :)
7:00-~7:30am Easy paced 4mi run. It actually took us probably
10 minutes to get out of the car----rainy yuck day---I liked the rain though.
Offers a different challenge. (Loving taper!)
Oh hi Rain. May flowers--promise?
7:40am My favorite coffee trip! Yum---Starbucks grande drip
coffee with some soy (for me) Tall vanilla soy latte (for JM)
8:30am Head back to work---Triathlon Swim Class at
9:00am-10:00am. These ladies in this class are just so awesome. We started this
class as a novice swim group that offers a lot of swim technique---can I just
brag and say they are doing SO AWESOME! They are so dedicated---and are
definitely seeing HUGE results- many of them dropping 20-30 sec on their 100
pace times (yes 100s!!!)
The Gerrys. Both ex channel cats----and my old hs coach- fun to be the coach on deck now :)
some 50s at the end! go ladies!
This was a special day though- they surprised me with a good
luck at ST George gift basket----let me just say that this was just so awesome.
They have such big hearts-----and it was so DAMN CRAFTY! HOLY COW!
omg. love. its been hard not to break open the candies.
found this- among others while flipping through the magazine....one word- awesome.
10:30am-12:15am Indoor trainer ride. Pretty steady with some
pickups J.
I would have preferred to be outside….but cant change the rain---so I enjoyed
some …
Broken Bells- "The Ghost Inside"
Beegees- "Nights on Broadway"
These Arms Are Snakes- "Subtle Body"
TAAS- "Mescaline Eyes"
Lil Wayne- "6 Foot 7 (feat Cory Gunz)"
Death Cab- "I will Possess Your Heart"
Gotye- "Somebody That I Used To Know"
Webbie- "Wipe Me Down"
Waka Flocka Flame- "No Hands"
Incubus- "Annamolly"
Incubus- "Are You In?"
1:00pm-2:45pm A couple more lessons at the gym. One with one
of my favorite clients-Rebekah- again, a very motivational dedicated athlete.
She lost her sight when she was only 22 and decided at the end of last year to
get back in the water and start to swim again- she had swam as a kid. She is
not only swimming----but competing and doing great!!! She always has a great
attitude—[is not only a wife- but mother of 5 children all under the age of 6
(one being a newborn)]- and a great willingness to do anything to get better-
she asks for more “fail” workouts every time I see her---- amazing woman
3:00pm-4:30pm Swam around 5500yds with TCCC. I’ve been
trying to get in early so I can get in a steady amount of yards before Channel
Cats starts at 3:30. I just love swimming with a team. They are so much
fun---and turn a long intimidating set into something achievable. The only bummer about hopping in with them
during the first half of their workout is-----it is the same everyday----warmup
1500yds---kickset 1000yds---stroke set (usually nonfree) ~1200yds….and usually
by the end of this its time for me to head back to work :( Yesterday it was 10x 100 Fly. Great. Hahaha
makes ya stronger I guess
This is usually how i feel after swim practice.
5:00pm- 7:30pm More work ----Susana, Channel Cats Strength and Conditioning, and
Larry.
7:45pm Dinner---we had pasta with sauce and salad (I don’t
think the gluten got along with me---dang)
8:30pm In bed----read a bit of ----Swimming to Antartica (im
reading it again J)
Well sounds like a lot---but honestly Thursdays are my long
days----so I can’t tell you that I do this everyday---just thought this would
be a fun one to share.
and I'm pretty sure all she did all day was this....
On to the weekend!
Love, Erin
