doen't mean that it is warm. It also doesn't mean that you can go out for a bike ride (when its 40ish) without a jacket, gloves, or toe covers. Lesson learned.
However, it was AMAZING getting out for fresh air on my ride today. It was the first training ride outside since Kona- and reminded me how much I love the fall season- and riding my lovely Roo2.

I have to spend a minute and talk about how awesome my Kennewick High School swimming team is. Last year at the end of the season I couldn't be more excited to get back to having one job- and having free time- and being done with the long (hard) season.
This year, every time I see my state girls get to practice I fight tears from my eyes. I am so unbelievably proud of what these girls have accomplished this year. Kennewick High School has never had a great swim team. When I was in school, the team had 5 girls and never had any state participants. This year I took 8 girls to the District Championship this last weekend. Out of these 8 girls, I had 2 -2nd place finishes, 1- 4th place finish, 1 - 3rd place finish, 1 -9th place finish, 2- 12th place finishes.
The best race of the weekend was my 200 free relay. We dove in and held onto 3rd place until getting outtouched at the wall by .01 placing us 4th. After the race finished, we overheard that the 2nd place had a false start, placing us 3rd- just one spot shy of audomatic qualifying for state. Kennewick High has never taken a swimming relay to state. Even though it breaks my heart to think about, I am so proud that my girls (3 of whom only swim highschool season- not year round) for how much heart they put into every practice and how intense they were behind those starting blocks.

What a great team- and I cannot wait until next season!
I guess that's just what's on my mind for this Tuesday night. Can't wait for my ride tomorrow---I'll wear a jacket next time.
Love, Erin
