if you don't like whats being served at lunch

pack a lunch. Maybe share a lunch with a  friend? Trade a bought lunch? Maybe drive somewhere to find a better lunch option? Ask someone about what they like about the yuck lunch and maybe find another light on your opinion of the taste?

All of the above choices would result in something more positive than being upset about settling with the unwanted lunch.

You cannot lose (as a win/lose situation) any of the positive options - I guess unless the lunch you traded happened to be something unpleasant as well--- and, well, all said and done- at least you tried and tomorrow you know not to do the same thing.

Just a thought I had today at the gym.
Just for fun

And as I sit here, on my sunken in green couch with the sleep of a 4:15am wake up starting to dawn in on my mood- I realize, "Yes, Erin! You could have a lot to complain about everyday (if you wanted to)" Ex: Woke up late and didn't get my coffee- the person in front of me is driving too slow....and i don't like their stickers on their car- my nails look ugly- the cat is hiding under the bed and hasn't gotten up to say hi this morning.....(okay I know...you get it)....

But honestly, what good does that do? Doesn't do anything for me.

Today I had an awful morning. I misread my schedule- was back at the gym 45 min sooner than I needed to be. Had a smack of reality at the gym on personal relationships. Missed out on a good opportunity for some fun training....wah wah wah. But it really took me someone else's negativity to remind myself--- I don't want to be like that.

Re-evaluation done, I am going to write out my goals for the year. I really enjoy reading everyone's 2012 goals, and looking at my not-so-stellar morning, we can look forward as it being on the challenging side of reaching these goals- and hear me - I LOVE A CHALLENGE.

SO BRING IT ON BAD DAYS. YOURE JUST MAKING ME STRONGER! Erin's 2012 will not hear it!

2012 To Do's

1) Compete in a snow shoe race (Jan 22 Mt. Hood is set---I am so excited!)
2) Become a better do-er. verses a say-er.
3) Spend (minimum) 1 hour a day reading
4) Reach my bike training goals
This picture has been my inspiration through these hard indoor riding months. I remember asking the photographer "Please, where is the water?" This memory I will carry with me for a long time.

5) Run across America with Rev3's Phenomenal Charity in hopes of raising 100,000 for the Ulman Cancer Fund- Check it out! http://rev3tri.com/america/raa-news/
4) Handle all of my own bike maintenance
White girls with gang signs hahahah

5) Continue learning- I would love to know more about important historical icons and events (I guess the public school system failed me haha)
6) Make loved ones a priority- I am disappointed in myself I haven't seen Casey Albert in 2 years.
7) More emphasis on nutrition- Become a "better" plant based diet eater.
Go go veggie-fruit-beans-jeep
Momma lovin the vitamix-love.

8) Take that damn Reusable bag to the grocery store (and take it inside with you---I always tend to either 1- forget the bag at my house or 2- leave it in the car)
9) Don't get lazy with causes you care about (get your butt out to that car and get the reusable bag)
10) Enjoy more runs, rides, and swims without all the numbers. Leave the watch at home and enjoy the beautiful scenery and joy of actually doing those actions.
just keep swimming...hahahahah eh

11) Have fun (racing).
12) Can't leave my goals on an odd number so ehh....honestly, say "No" more often. I tend to be a pushover. :)

Well, there she blows.

Happy new (goals) and resolutions!

Love, Erin
